It is with great regret that the Montego Bay Yacht Club announce the unavoidable postponement of the 2025 Pineapple Cup-Montego Bay Race. The race was scheduled to take place January 24-30, 2025. The next edition of the race is scheduled for April 10, 2027.
Pineapple Cup Race Chair, Lyn Langford said, “It is with a heavy heart that we will need to postpone the upcoming edition of the Pineapple Cup. As we continue to try and rebuild the race, we did not have the level of entries we determined to be necessary to run a competitive race. We have not made this decision lightly, but ultimately, we know that it is in the best interest of the history of the race, the competitors, and the Montego Bay Yacht Club. We will run the race again in two-years [2027] with a new place on the calendar in April. It is our hope to attract more teams with a later start in the sailing season and we encourage anyone interested to reach out for more information.”
With this postponement the Pineapple Cup will resume in 2027 with a new position on the sailing calendar. The 2027 race is scheduled to start from Miami on April 10. However, this winter the Pineapple Cup will run virtually via Virtual Regatta and participants can register HERE or via the Virtual Regatta app.
